Extract of sample "Demographic Transition Model"

This could have a wide series of implications, depending on how it occurs. One thing that will certainly occur is a massive growth in population, as birth rates remain high and death rates drop rapidly. This population might continue logarithmically if birth rates do not gradually fall, as occurred in Europe because either the benefits of having children continue to rise or any of the incentives for small families are lacking. I believe one of the major changes this will cause in our post-industrial world is mass exodus of young people, as the opportunities that used to support them stop becoming available, both because fewer and fewer young people are dying and more and older people stay in their jobs longer has health care improves and they also fail to die as previously expected.

This could lead to a massive influx of people from these quickly expanding countries into less expansive ones, possibly supporting their growth or population maintenance in the future (such as is occurring in Europe today).
