Job Of Mice and Male: In a letter. John Steinbeck Wrote of Curley better half: She is a great girl and not a floozy. Discuss and explain your own impression of Curleys better half.
In Of Mice and Male John Steinbeck explains Curley partner as a character of many contradictions she is shown as both a nice girl and a floozy; lonely yet vindictive; Motherly but likewise seductive. In this essay I will attempt to talk about both of her sides. Throughout the novel Curley better half acts and dresses as a floozy; in the really starting when we first see her she is dressed up great and has her nails painted red which in those days signified risk, she dresses in excellent quality clothing and looks after herself a lot more then she ought to as she remains in a ranch loaded with guys and has chores as all the women those days had.
She spends too much time on her appearance, in the novel it says she has rouge lips, hair in little sausages, and not just is she dressed very great, she also acts extremely sexy by displaying her womanly parts she put her hands behind her back and leaned against the door frame so her body was tossed forward. She raids the door frame teasing the guys, she knows she will get lots of attention since she is a young beautiful woman and the men are constantly in the cattle ranch and she is the only lady there.
She also talks very flirtatiously with the men as she says things playfully showing she has no interest of discovering her other half as she intended to do in the first location. When she is about to leave she says No one can blame an individual for looking which has a double meaning. It can be interpreted as you canat blame an individual for looking which would imply you can not blame her for looking for Curley and you can not blame a person for looking and appreciating her.
Likewise, when she goes into the bunkhouse she states I am looking for Curley which is a lie due to the fact that she is only saying that to flirt and speak with the men. We can tell that since when Slim says he has just seen Curley heading towards their home, she instantly becomes anxious and heads away due to the fact that she does not wish to be seen flirting with the guys. The guys understand that she is in a loveless marriage to Curley.
