The development of internet activities in the business and social sphere has led to bringing in huge transformations in the way of transacting the day-to-day activities. New concepts in the context of business and society have also emerged owing to the progress of internet technology. Moreover, the expansion of the usage of internet activities has also caused the emergence of newer forms of business like online retail firms. These retail firms like Amazon are countering the sale and purchase of a large number of products pertaining to different categories through its internet sphere. In fact, the emergence of these online retail firms has changed the way through which people generally make purchases and sales. People started becoming more accustomed to the virtual sphere where they were presented with a huge variety of options of many commodities belonging to different categories.

In the field of conducting online retail services, Amazon.com Incorporation is considered to have made a pioneering effort in providing access to consumers to a wide variety of different commodities. The company after the 1990 period grew to encompass the largest varieties of different product assortments pertaining to a large number of categories like books, compact discs, music systems, electronic gadgets, furnishing equipment, toy products for children, and other homes and kitchen accessories. Amazon.com also earned fame for being the selling agent of a large number of popular retail firms belonging to various sectors. The company puts increased focus to gather a huge market share and also augmenting its profitability position. Amazon.com commenced its pioneering work in the period of 1990 owing to the mass-scale development and spread of internet users for both domestic and commercial purposes. The advancement of the internet helped many companies to conduct sales and purchase activities among a large number of customers on a worldwide basis via the web sphere. In this context, Jeff Bezos came out with an amazing business plan during 1994 which later shaped Amazon.com to venture into the sphere of online retailing. In the initial years, the company mainly highlighted the selling of books, videos, compact discs, and other computer peripherals and accessories through the online sphere.
