South Africa Team B By: Federico Creek more DeVry March 24, Sales Letter Team B CC March 24, South African Cultural Analysis as a Target sales countryBackground of the countryThe Republic of South Africa is currently one of the most developed nations in Africa having risen from racial discriminations and apartheid rule through good and committed governance. The government of South Africa have initiated measures supporting economic, cultural, and political development. These factors create a favourable business hub that has maximised domestic industry and encouraged foreign investors.

South Africa has a cultural diversity arising from the black and white residents. The cultural diversity is characterized different communication styles, ethical behaviour, and lifestyles in business world (Bruckner, 2001). The cultural diversity influences the business practices, working relations, business hierarchy, and business etiquette within South Africa. In extending its services to South Africa, it is quite significant for Kelly Services to understand the aspects of cultural diversity in South Africa’s business platform (Macleod, 2002).

This report will detail the cultural aspects in South Africa’s business field and explain why South Africa will be a good target for Kelly Services.Working RelationshipsSouth Africans encourage good working relationships coupled with honesty, trust, and politeness. They have utmost respect for all and derive their moral values from their diverse culture (Bruckner, 2001).Dressing code and business meeting EtiquetteSouth Africans prefer a conservative and formal dressing in all business meetings and practices.

Men dress in suits and ties while women wear formal dresses and suits (Macleod, 2002). They prefer handshakes and business cards as they manifest commitment and formality in business (Gorill, 2007). They significantly observe time consciousness and expect honesty and fairness in all business dealings.HierarchySouth Africans business people have abject respect for their business leaders and business organizations. The mode of communication between the employees, employers, and the public is well established.

There is sound cooperation between the employees and employers in carrying out business operations. Indeed, the views and interests of employees are highly considered in any organizational decision or change. Hence, all stakeholders participate in running the business enterprises though the management reserves the right of initiating new dimensions and making critical decisions in the business (Gorrill, 2007).Business practicesSouth Africans value inclusiveness, fairness, and honesty in all business activities.

They equally disregard titles such as Mister or Miss in the context of business operations. They regard them as sources of equality and division among the people, which faces abomination in their diverse culture. Although the whites are polite and courteous, Afrikaans reluctantly associate with unfamiliar people (Bruckner, 2001). Hence, the whites and the blacks offer distinct hospitality to visitors. RecommendationsBased on the above findings, it is necessary for Kelly services sales representatives to be aware of the cultural languages used in South Africa for effective communication (Bovee and Thill, 2009).

They should also be well prepared in handling the distinct receptions offered by the whites and blacks in South Africa. Additionally, it is significant to know and adopt the dress code in cultural South Africa businesses. The mode of communication between the employees and employers should be of great concern to the sales persons because it drives the business. They should know the importance attached to honesty, trust, and fairness and consequently apply those aspects in South Africa business deals.

The sales representatives in Kelly services should accommodate the disregard associated with titles and the regard attached to time consciousness. Similarly, they should adopt the respect accorded to business leaders, show it, and demonstrate fairness in all business deals. In light of these cultural aspects in business, South Africa remains a good target market for Kelly Services. Kelly Services portfolio of services will meet the needs of all business enterprises in South Africa including, consulting, information technology, and outsourcing.

The company’s exemplary integrity will be significant in recruiting professional and morally upright staff. Actually, the company is well versed in outsourcing and advocating for formal dressing codes, business etiquette, respect, honesty, and fairness in the business world. The company’s diversity in employment and management is beneficial in understanding the cultural aspects of South Africa business and effectively provide staff and business leaders that will be fit the cultural diversity of South Africa.

This will enable the company to deal with the distinct hospitalities manifested by the black and white South Africans. Additionally, the aspect of strategic on-site workforce management contained in Kelly Services will be very significant in handling any divergent characteristics in the culturally diverse South African business.

The global respect and appreciation that Kelly Services enjoys will transfer to South African businesses (Kelly Services, 2012).
