Analysis of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” Essay

The Speech I have selected to do is “I have a dream” by Martin Luther King. “I have a dream that a person day this nation will rise and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these realities to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.” I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the boys of previous servants and the kids of previous servant owners will be able to take a seat together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that a person day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of injustice, will be changed into an oasis of flexibility and justice. I have a dream that my 4 kids will one day live in a country where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today.

This is an especially inspiring speech because he was saying exactly what he felt and it came straight from his heart, and it was precisely what individuals that were listening were thinking of the how they were being dealt with. The speech demonstrates how mad he is with all the bigotry in the United States of America, and he informs everyone how things should be, this worked especially well since all the black individuals in America were treated poorer than white people and it summarized all the hatred and anger that was inside them. Martin Luther king used very cleverly considered sentence structure to make more influence on the listeners.

He utilized the fast and stylish sentences to get their attention and after that he would use the longer sentences to describe his deeper feelings. Luther king also uses the word flexibility a lot because it shows that is what they didn’t have, which also once again makes the listeners feel that they do not have a lot of liberty. The meaning of motivation is “the procedure of being psychologically stimulated to do or feel something, specifically to do something creative.” This is precisely what Dr King got people that listened to his speech to feel, motivated to do something to assist themselves. Thank you for listening.
