Developing Working Relationship with Colleagues         Benefits of Working with Colleagues 1 Productive Working Relationships    This relationship enhances the morale and self-assurance within the colleagues fraternity in the workplace since the workmates have guarantee for continuous support from the employers. It also sets a free environment where both the employer and the employee can easily present their views with ease. By setting a free environment with the employees, an individual also improves the doors for future opportunities. The accountability may be through one of the employees that may guarantee the support needed in any of the available opportunities somewhere. Productive working relationships are quite significant for every professional (Lasla & Bjarnson, 2010). At the workplace, workmates are the immediate people that offer training, general support, and advice to new employees who are expected to grow both physically and psychologically. Moreover, a personal analysis must be conducted using the SWOT terminology adopted from marketing. For instance, through interaction with colleagues, a sales manager must ascertain their strengths in the job, weaknesses, and opportunities open to them and potential threats or coercions to their success. Additionally, such relationships enable employees to draft a ‘force diagram’ that will pinpoint the forces that drive employees towards accomplishment and those that restrain them from success. Developing productive working relationship may also enable one to establish the best networks that one may not have had before or may not even have in the future. It allows the officer in charge to understand each employee or employer from their environment in terms of race, ethnicity, and geographical conditions, political, social and economic contextual. Such understanding is critical in developing an insightful and satisfactory work environment especially in the contemporary world where diversity and inclusion needs to be upheld and fully bolstered. At the Heathrow Airport, employees from diverse racial, religious, and political background are predominant. As a sales manager, I find it mandatory to understand all employees and trade partners notwithstanding their contextual and affiliations since they are an imperative component in the running and success of the organization. 2.0 Establishment of Working Relationships with Colleagues  2.1 Identification of Colleagues within own and Other Organizations   In this case, the features of moral courage; exploration of moral characteristics that support moral behaviour such as moral reasoning and respecting one’s ethnical background promotes work competence in the company. The manager should take care of employee’s religious rights, economic and social demands, political differences, racial and any other form of discrepancies (Williams, 2001). There should also be clear follow up of the attitude of the employee, feelings and the employee’s capability in achieving the task that has been delegated to them. The company itself also should have such structures that enhance moral courage and support. These features in the organization include the organization’s mission, vision and values, models of care, structural empowerment, communication, culture and other forms of leadership that promotes moral courage (Shiach, 1989).  2.2 Agreement on the roles and responsibilities for colleagues    Responsibility is usually the moral or ethical actions that an individual is expected to do while in a given place, situation or scenario. Every employee has a duty to follow the duties assigned by the company’s management. By doing so, this will improve the respect and understanding between the employer and employees. Through the duties, an employee has an assignment that will facilitate performance-based evaluation. The evaluation is responsible throughout the period of service to the respective organization. In this case, too, the employee may end up being of recognition by the company and thereafter be rewarded or even promoted by the organization.  It is, therefore, a clear agreement that the responsibilities and the roles given to the employees in the company enhance clear understanding and relationship between every person in the organization. Particular employees will undoubtedly know their duties, thereby avoiding conflicts, confusion, or wrangles within the organization. It also enables avoidance of time wastage, as each employee knows what she or he is responsible in the business, therefore, goes straight to it to attend to it fully.  3. Professional and respectful actions when working with colleagues  3.1 How to display behaviour that shows professionalism    By being competent, one is good enough at what to do with the necessary knowledge and skills in the field of work that, therefore, facilitates excellent job (Ungar & Liebenberg, 2008). All should be reliable by showing up in time to people whom they rely on and submit work at the required time and others as deemed to be of enhancing reliability to the company. Trustworthiness at all time by abiding with the truth every time is mandatory requirements. In this case, issues of corruption that may face an individual are no more available.   The employee should always be up to date with relevant skills and information in the workplace to prevent one from being out of date in the knowledge and skills that they offer to the company. The employer should always be supportive to the employees by giving explanations in whatever is required in a properly manner and have the urge to listen to them wherever needed. Emergence and development of good working relationships further enhances productivity and professionalism by enabling workers to share important aspects. 4. Communication with colleagues  4.1 How to pass information to others clearly and concisely  Effective communication is vivacious for the success of an organization. Factually, communication enhances understanding and cooperation among employees and bolsters teamwork, worker productivity, and smooth flow of organizational activities. The information can have convenience through written materials such as memos and notice placed on notice boards. The manager can use verbal means such as direct linkage with the employees or through radio and televisions. The manager may also use up to date means of sending information such as emails, faxes and telephone calls to pass the information to the employees. The manager should also consider the use of hierarchy of the chain of power. In this case, the information classification from the top management officer to the junior officer is of high need. As a core component in the success of a business, communication must be fully supported and incorporated by senior management (Ungar & Liebenberg, 2008). The currency exchanges section at Heathrow Airport is an example of a sector that smooth flow of information and effective communication are of utter significance. Effective communication helps in reducing and eliminating information asymmetry in the Airport. Communication enables employees to know co-workers on a personal level, communicate openly, employ active listening skills, and learn to be respectful to others and be willing to compromise or bargain in order to maintain the win-win attitude (Brown, 2013). Disagreements are prevalent in the contemporary work environment due to divergence of interests and ideas. As a critical force that defines most activities and connections and/or networks in an organization, a sales manager must labour to be in control of their emotions and use best judgement when resolving employee-employer or employee-employee conflicts. 4.2 Reception and clarification of own information understanding     Analysis of the expected feedback gets the first consideration. The involved party should ask consider whether the feedback is within the agreed methods of agreement and convenience (Ungar & Liebenberg, 2008). Checking whether the information is within the timeframe is also of high value and expectation. Further analysis of the information for the purposes of clarity and consciousness may involve meetings. Here a review of the information is important, which may involve team talks from various parties within the organization.  5. Potential work related difficulties and exploration of solutions    One of the areas is the case of direct employment of a direct close relative in the same group by a senior officer in the company who in this particular case happens to be his relative. Increment in ethnicity hampers the relationship between managers and employees as employees feel maltreated and beleaguered, a factor that ominously slays their morale and productivity (Lasla & Bjarnson, 2010). A transaction with a relative or business organization in which as an individual has a role to play is also a challenge. When individual interests are not in line with those of the organization, the management must strive to align the interest of the employees and the employees be willing to forego their personal interests for the benefit of the organization. While many organisations strive to create healthy employee relationships, diversity and personal interests continue to be impeding factors. Transparency continues being an issue of interest to many HR managers. Existence of a healthy and competitive working relationships and environment requires the existence of rectitude, pellucidity, inclusion, and veneration rather than disdain (Brown, 2013). The apparent benefits and importance of a good employer-employee or employee-employee relationships are evident and sheer and must be protected. Defining relationship needs and boundaries, developing emotional intelligence, and learning to appreciate and contain diversity are critical in resolving the issues surrounding the development of healthy working relationships (Wall, 2008). The above elucidation visibly indicates that developing effective working relationships with colleagues is of utter importance in the success of the organization as well as in the realization and attainment of personal goals.
